Deaf Lives Liverpool Launch
The short film, Deaf Lives, Liverpool was launched on Friday 16th May 2008 at the Treasure House Theatre, World Museum, Liverpool.

Over 60 people attended the launch and, despite a small technical hitch, everyone enjoyed the film. The film and accompanying book of translations will be available for purchase later this year. Many thanks to the World Museum for hosting this event.

National Museums, Liverpool will be organising some BSL interpreted events, if you would like more information about these please click on Alex Shears on:

We are still looking for some sponsorship (£2,500) to complete the publication of the Deaf Lives, Liverpool book. if you, or someone you know, would like to support this project, please contact Simeon at: simeon@signdance.com

Performance in Sevilla
Our recent visit to Spain as part of the Festival Escena Mobile 2008 was a tremendous success. In scorching temperatures of over 30 degrees Common Ground was one of four international Companies performing over three days.

The UK was well represented with ourselves and a dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers flying the flag. There was a group of visually impaired dancers from Spain and a group of dancers with mental health issues from Belgium.

Well over 200 people came to watch our performance of Martin Lawrance's "Breaker" and Denise Armstrong's "Men & Demons". We were very well taken care of by our hosts the Asociacion Compania de Danza Mobile and all the dancers agreed this was one of the most enjoyable week's work ever.

Moving Images on Website
As part of an ongoing development project supported by the Arts Council Engand, NW, we have been able to add some moving images to our website - just click on the yellow MEDIA button on the left of your screen to see our dancers in action. We will continue to upgrade our website over the coming months - we'd love to hear your comments.

New projects
We have a couple of very exciting new projects in the pipeline -young people and older people, dancers and non-dancers. We can't give any details yet until we have confirmed that the funding is in place..... watch this space......
